SAGES: New Ministry for SeniorsĪt General Conference 2022, Church Advancement launched a new ministry designed specifically for constituents over the age of 55 – because ministry doesn’t end when we retire! The Appreciation Sunday initiative has served to create common ground and ignite interest in the church from area residents.Īppreciation Sunday is designated on the second Sunday in September. City officials have attended these services honoring those who make a positive impact on the lives of others. Many honorees, along with family members and colleagues, have been introduced to the Apostolic message through this initiative. We have honored first responders, civil servants, educators, and entrepreneurs. Appreciation SundayĪppreciation Sunday is an initiative that connect churches with their communities. You can mail your Compassion Sunday offering to: Make checks payable to Compassion Services International and note “Compassion Sunday” in the memo portion. Your church will receive Global Missions giving credit for your Compassion Sunday offering. We encourage every church to collect an offering to support the work CSI is doing in Turkiye, Syria, and around the globe. To assist with such efforts, the UPCI has designated February 26 as Compassion Sunday. Compassion Services International, the humanitarian outreach ministry of the UPCI, is collecting funds to provide food, water, and basic hygiene to victims of this disaster. The death toll from the February 6 earthquake that devastated Turkiye and Syria now exceeds 47,000, and more than 3.5 million people have been displaced from their homes.
